We have reservations Sunday thru Thurs (4 nights) this July in a queen bungalow suite. I think we got a pretty good deal via a promotion at $95/night before the $18/night resort fee plus tax. If we end up with this room I am happy.
However..........if I could get a deal I would pay to upgrade to a Hollywood suite, Glamour, Terrace, Marquee or even a Skyloft room.
I do understand that a upgrade is not a guarantee. I do expect to pay for a upgrade.
I would not pay the website costs. The nicer rooms are worth more to me but not that much more.
How much more would I pay? Well, I'd pay about $30+/night more for the Hollywood suite or about $100+/night more for the Terrace or Marquee.
So my question is, are MGM upgrades to rooms at time of check in discounted? If not, I will not even bother to ask. If they are, what is the best approach?
From what I have read, the $20 sandwich does not work at the MGM. I'm blown away by reports I have read at one website where people give the $20 sandwich to a clerk at MGM to get moved from a tower room to a small West Wing room. That’s like ordering a double hamburger and paying extra to get a single. I just don’t get it.
Thank you for your help.
