still waiting but since I paid up front I will hold on. Hopefully he will get them to me soon. Unlike other locations, we boat year round in Seattle.

All this does not sound good. Not that I need anything done.

One of the problems that CSR members seem to have is that everyone wants to communicate by email. Unfortunately, not all tradesmen are comfortable with or spend a lot of time with email/web sales, even thought it is the way of the future (really present!). I ordered panels from Scott last year and quickly saw that he does a lot better with the telephone and is very responsive to requests, questions, etc. when you just call him up. I think we got our panels in 2-3 weeks of sending in payment...........and they are beautiful.

I just got my panels in today. I had them done up in a black gunpowder look, nothing like a Sea Ray panel. Also had Scott add the SR logo and do LED backlighting.
Have not done anything with the panels yet, except to stick the guages in. I have another center panel that is not shown in the picture. (there is nothing wrong with that one guage, I think the camera flash did that)

Quick ship and easy communication on my purchase in October.

Scott was great to get back to me by phone and email. The panel was great and about 1/3 of original cost, though no longer available from Sea Ray. He did indicate some difficulty getting material as his supplier had ran out of the inventory they had in stock and were having procurement issues in this economy.

I would try to work with him as the product I received was great and I feel he will ultimately follow through.

Only one supplier for that material? Thats sounds odd?

Plastics companies sell thru distributors who have their own set of problems with minumums, inventory pressures, getting paid, etc. so who really knows what's behind the raw material problem.

It is what it is. I started this with a simple question " is he still in business?"as I had no communication after November 12 and my money was sent in September. Scott runs a website as well so I think he is comfortable with this new internet thing. He has just been pulled in too many directions to focus on getting my project completed.

IMHO, this thread has gone on too long without any input from Scott. He depends on the marine community for his bread and butter and yet he is obviously not scanning boating forums to see if anyone is upset about his work product.

I got my four panels back, albeit one has to be re-done because of a “brain fart” error. However, overall I am very pleased with the quality of the product. My little digital camera does not do justice to the work.

I know that he is having problems getting the burlwood material and that he has other issues. Nevertheless, I don’t feel that anybody is going to have any confidence in him unless he gets with the program and squares with everybody. Otherwise, there is just a lot of guessing and mis-understanding.

Maybe if everyone following this thread sends him an e-mail with a link to this thread, he will get the message.

Just my 2 cents.

yep, I work at an injection molding facility. Not only are plastic manufactures no longer stocking anything, their no longer selling directly, and raising minimum buys on almost everyting.

Materials we used to get for a few dollars a pound at 55lbs are now 12 to 30$ a pound and we have to buy 330lbs. in order to get anywhere close to the old price we have to be using 1500lbs or more per buy. Many manufactures are implementing 8800lb buys.

not to mention lead times are easily 8 weeks now or more on many resins. So if its not a common grade being distributed, many customers of mine are out of luck and have to find something else.

Plastics companies sell thru distributors who have their own set of problems with minumums, inventory pressures, getting paid, etc. so who really knows what's behind the raw material problem.

Dash is on the way. Get them Wednesday. I will post pics of what I expect to be great craftsmanship. Thanks Scott. Happy you are digging your way back.

Dash arrived today!!! Thanks Scott as they look GREAT! I will be at the boat tomorrow and start the planning and cursing for the installation.
