Again I did a search, but no answer.

This weekend, aside from the sump issue, I had the weirdest thing happen. Used the head, stepped on the pedal, vacuum started, but abruptly stopped.

No vacuum, system just didn't seem to have power. Checked all the breakers and switches, everything fine. Went over and got my friend from next boat. He has a 330. He came over, tried to plunge it, nothing. Rechecked all breakers and switches. Then he reached over and checked wiring connections on the vacu pump motor, I guess thats what it's called. Anyway, when he shook the blue wire, the thing started working. He said it felt loose, not the wire, but connector on the pump motor. It worked fine the rest of the night and no problem today.

Anyone have this happen? What was the fix? Thanks.

I'm sure that connection/ connector can be tightened. On a side note, it has been written here on CSR many times that you should not "plunge" a vacu flush toilet. Search posts from 4SUNS. He has made some great, detailed posts on th eentire system.

I know I have read that you don't plunge the vacuflush on here, but I have done it without a problem.

Last summer I got a clog. Russ, Shinsr on this site, was docked next to me. He had just rebuilt his entire vacuflush system last season on his previous boat. He came onboard and advised the plunger. It worked and I had no issues after. I will try to find foursons posts to see why he advises against it!

When using a plunger the possibility exists that the suction created by the plunger *could* reverse the duckbills.

Has anyone found the detailed post by Four Suns? I want to learn more and I tried looking for it too with no luck. (I only got through about 4 pages of the threads started by him so far.)

Thanks LTD. I thought that was the main concern. I have to see a set of these puppies to see how rigid they are. I'm sure if they reversed that would be a disaster but, what are the actual chances? I will know more when I actually see them.

If the problem with plunging is the duck bills reversing, then would the compressed air power plungers cause any issues? I have to admit I have used them to clear clogs in my vacuflush (and with my prior boat's manual head) with no apparent damage.

There have been dozens of people who have fixed a failed Vacuflush using a plunger, even though it is "impossible".

The only CSR authorized repair is to pick clogged poo and pons, so don't think about a plunger.

I too have used a plunger, no apparent I'll effects. I have to say if I had to "dig" into the system/duckbills while out for a weekend, that would put a major damper on the fun factor!

Although the last half dozen or so posts had absolutely nothing to do with "my" question, I appreciate you taking the time to post.

Does anyone know of any good restaurants in the Freeport LA area?
