Mine needs to be replaced. I have the tank guard 310001 model. Which one is recommended to replace it with?

They are not magic. A piece of pvc with two end caps with nipples on them. Fill it with fish tank charcoal use a piece of foam in each end to keep the charcoal from falling out of the nipples. Save some money. You can even put a union in the middle so you can refill it each year.

I've modified my fart filter similar to what Riptide did above, but I used the original filter. I measured the LOA first to make sure the modified filter was the same LOA, then cut it in the middle, removed a section of the PVC that was equal to the length of the male and female connectors. Then glued the connectors in place.

Charcoal can be picked up at Walmart or any pet store. It's used in aquarium filters.

Dump out the old, stinky charcoal, wash the parts making sure to save the foam pieces. Reinsert the foam pieces, fill both halves with charcoal and screw 'em together.

Total cost for the mod is around $10. Charcoal is another $10 or so and the half gallon container lasts 2-3 refills. Easy Peasy.

I've had one of the Voker filters installed for 2 full seasons plus this year and it works just as well as the Sealand filter. At $48 it is just under 60% of the cost of the Sealand filter.

I've used Big Orange filters on my last three boats. No complaints.
I'll use the advice of replacing the charcoal with fish tank filter charcoal to avoid having to order from Big Orange though.

I too have replaced with the Big Orange. Old filter was original and quite rough looking and cracked. I now just replace charcoal as others do with fish tank filter charcoal.

I bought the voker. Might try and rebuild original for a backup. Thanks for the info!

This is what I do. AND use Noflex digester.

Go buy a charcoal water filter for camper it is a little smaller but works great. $10

Are you referring to the Camco blue ones?
I use them for our fresh water but never thought about them on the holding tank filter.

REply yes the charcoal blue they use for water. They work great. IF you pay 100 for the others and overfill tank it will ruin the filter. IF you buy the $10 water filter just buy new one. I have used these on last 2 boats works great
