The owners' manual states to turn off the fresh water pump if you are using dockside water. I believe this switch has to be on to flush water into the vacu flush bowl. Seems like a pain to turn the switch on every time you want to flush. I tried leaving it on with the dockside water also on and didn't notice a problem. When I turned on other faucets, I didn't hear the fresh water pump running. Should I do as the manual says, or leave the water pump switch on while using dockside water????
Thanks

I always keep the water pump off when connected to fresh water at the dock. The fresh water fills your bowl, and there is no need to leave the pump on. Was like that on my last two searays...

The fresh water hook up from the dock will fill your bowl for you. It is the same water for your faucets, shower, etc. Why would it be different?

There is generally no harm in having the pump on with the fresh water from the dock also on. The pump will sense 40+ lbs of pressure and stay off.

Best bet? Shut the pump off and use dockside water. It works for all the water outlets (including vacuflush) in your boat. It taps into the same line in your boat that the pump is tapped into.

Thanks guys....for some reason, I don't get water in the bowl if the pump is off and dock side water on. With both on, everything worked great...Probably shouldn't have been reading the manual:smt043
