V-drive stuffung box

Thanks, Mike. I looked at the stuffing box today. Strange looking packing nut. Its somewhat a trapazoid and 3" across. I have a wrench that opens 3" but the handle is too long. What do you use?

I have used a large channel lock pliers and it works fine as you really don't need to crank them very tight at all. Last winters project was to install dripless seals and I have to say it wasn't cheap but really nice to have a dry bilge.
