USCG Restricted Zones

we have restricted zones around McDill Air Force Base here in Tampa.

Got one at Rartian Bay, near sandy hook. It's a Navy ship.

Got story to share, I was riding on waverunner and the year was 2002, I know it's restricted area but it has no marker, so I was heading toward sandy hook. All of suddenly I saw cop and army boat coming to me, I stopped.. They were talking on speaker, I yelled, "I'm deaf, can't hear ya"

So they came closer to me, I explained I had no idea how far I was suppose to be.. There was no marker. They let me go.. The next year, I was on waverunner, going to Sandy Hook, know what I saw?? A lot of buoy.. Perfect, now we all know how far we suppose to be..

In Valdez Arm they are really touchy about it as I guess the Alaska Pipeline and terminal have been targets for terrorist.

I have seen the CG pull up to a boat, guns loaded and not very nice about it.

Upper Chesapeake Bay Aberdeen Proving Ground is restricted area.

So has anyone been fined?

a 1G ticket is pretty spending and the appeal rights for a ticket received in Valdez is the USCG in DC.........

Look Marg, lets go over and look at the supertanker.......:smt009

I was part of the Victim Recovery Team for Flight 800. The Navy set up a Security Zone around a very large area. The News Media made every attempt to violate this Zone using everything from Telephoto Lenses to High Power Listening Devices. They even had Lip Readers watching threw High Power Telescopes which forced us to put up Poly Tarp Screens while bringing back the Victims Remains. Al W.

There is restricted zone around the Oyster Creek nuclear plant on the Delaware Rive. I noted when I north on the river that it is not all set off with yellow bouys.

Other than no wake you can come within 300 ft of the Coast Guard boats in Cape May, that is because they are docked at the edge of the channel. But I would not go close to them in spite of what Gary might say.

Gary did suggest zig - zagging toward the Navy ships on the James River in Virginia and do it at high speed.

Where is Gary----his words of wisdom are missed
