This summer I met an 84 year old Seaman who surved in WWII on an Alaskan costal boat for the first part of the war before being transfered to the Pacific. It was wood about 32 foot. He found the boat for sale many years ago and purchased it. He refitted it and uses it as a cruiser. Based on the stories he had in WWII with the boat it went through a lot and it was a solid boat. Any one ever see the newer Coast Guard Boats turned into cruisers.
