Planning on a trip from Dubuque to St. Anthony Falls and St. Croix this summer. Any tips on must see points of interest or great marinas/motels/resturants along the way? Plan to take a week to do it and would appreciate any tips from folks who have done it before or boat this area and what they enjoy. We've run between Dubuque and Pepin, but have never been North of Pepin and really don't know much about any area North of Prairie Du Chien/Lacrosse area. We had a great experience at Trempealeau on the trip a couple years ago and will make sure to find out what may be going on there. Appreciate any thoughts and info anyone has. Thanks and happy boating!

Sounds like a really fun trip. I have not had the pleasure of cruising over there yet. Sure would like a report once you get back!

Sure will report back! Kind of suprised no real comments yet. I understand the St. Croix is incredibly clear and nice and locks 1A and B are quite a lift- we hope gas on the river is reasonable for the summer, so trips like this are affordable. Thanks for the reply.

We've made the trip from the Quad Cities to Lake City MN and up the St. Croix to Stillwater. Last July was our third annual voyage. It's a great trip! We make it a two day trip to Lake City, staying in Prarie Du Chein on the way up. In Lake City, we stayed in Willows on the River Condominiums the first year and last July we stayed at The Rivage, also a condo. There are lots of good marinas. Lake City is one of the biggest on the upper Miss if not the biggest.
Eat in Pepin Wisconsin at the Harbor View Cafe. They're not open every evening so call first.
I'd be glad to answer any othe questions.
