I still have a full yard of snow. It's gonna be a while before you start to see any significant melting.

They are talking a 30% chance of 18 ft here in La Crosse which would be a record :smt089 and an 82% chance of 15.5 feet (major flooding). She's gonna be a wet one. On the positive side,, it's going to be 60 in a couple of days and we virtually have no snow left.

"The record crest in La Crosse was 17.9 feet on April 22 1965, followed by 16.41 feet on April 18, 2001."

In the Quad Cities, they're saying it could hit 25 feet. 22' is the highest it's ever gotten, and that was a serious problem, 25' is build an Ark time.

We were planning a cruise up to Muscatine in May now we will hold off on reserving a slip till I have a better idea what the river has in store. I would be happy if it stayed normal after the spring rise and there are still some sandbars around to party on, they were under water last year. High water & high diesel will mean more short trips to local areas to anchor out and enjoy the river as much as possible.

They're claiming in the Quad Cities (close enough to Muscatine) area the the flood will be mid-April to mid-May, which means they don't really know when/if it is coming. You might be cutting it close in May.

We were planning on being there the 13th for the Keels & Wheels event, we would leave our marina on the 10th or 11th. Just have to wait and see what happens, might luck out but I wouldn't bet on it.
