You mean studying the chart right?Light bulb finally went off studying the map more, thanks
That tooYou mean studying the chart right?
If you are not planning to come back up this year I would probably go to Great Oak/Fairlee Saturday (get there early) then short run to hit Tolchester on your way back Sunday. That too
Using Navionics, when I first did an Automatic trip from Wells Cove to Fairlee Creek it couldn't find Fairlee. Then it drew a route taking me to the other side of Chestertown on the Chester River, thus must post. Then your reply and @marz989, then I studied the chart, looking North, and found Fairlee.
We are down to one weekend, one trip before I have to move the boat, weather pending of course. Now I can't decide if Chestertown or Fairlee would be the "best" trip. I see a Swan Creek on the way to Fairlee that looks interesting.
Ha, been there done that before at other destination/favorite watering holes. Watching this video is what got me interested in Fairlee:Swan Creek is the back side of Rock Hall. Nice Anchorage, some good marinas back there.
If you go to Fairlee, have folks here tell you how to enter.
It's sorta like drive up onto the beach, hard left, drive up onto the beach, shake hands with folks at Jelly Fish Joel's, hard right, power through the cut, now you can breathe again.

That channels' width shrinks at low tide and the current can be quite swift at changing tides.Ha, been there done that before at other destination/favorite watering holes. Watching this video is what got me interested in Fairlee:
I was thinking about this as well, two different experiences.I'm assuming you are planning your trip for this coming weekend? Just a couple of thoughts...
Jelly Fish Joels in Fairlee doesn't open until May 21. However The Landing, the restaurant at Safe Harbor Great Oak Landing Marina is open now. I don't think the Tolchester Shanty bar is open until May 21 either, but not positive.
There isn't a town connected to Fairlee Creek like at Chestertown Marina. Just the marina the restaraunt and the tiki bar. It really depends on the experience you are looking for.
Check the weather, it looks like we may have rain up here this weekend.
This time of year my opinion is Chestertown is better. More to do. If it was July, hot, toes in sand weather, than Fairlee.Current reservations for Chestertown are the weekend of the 21st. We will not be on the boat this coming weekend.

Can I "redact" my earlier post? LolThis time of year my opinion is Chestertown is better. More to do. If it was July, hot, toes in sand weather, than Fairlee.

The top pic … current flowing out, you’re coming in, hard right, don’t ground, oops boat coming out same time, tight squeeze, power up to fight the current, holy shit, 12 peeps in a 7’ 2hp zodiac are crossing the cut heading to JFJ now right in front of you! Good times! Can I "redact" my earlier post? Lol
Between the forecast, opening/entertainment schedules of the two aforementioned places and the fact that you already have a reservation in Chestertown lends to sticking with your original plans.
Also as mentioned above, the town has much to offer especially if the weather doesn't cooperate and you can't "have your toes in the sand". @Pirate Lady
As for the entrance "cut" to Fairlee, it can be interesting in more ways than one, for sure.

Commin outta turn one and I spot this guy on the sand bar of turn two.
