Upgrading to NMEA 2000

I would like to get all of my engine data onto my NMEA 2000 network. I have a 1990 7.4L and I know there isnt much data but I would like to see it on my Garmin 740S. I already have a my NMEA 2000 back bone 2 feet from the merc 14 pin harness but I would also l keep my analog gauges functioning as well. Any and all help would be much appreciated.

quick google turned this up. some on the hatteras board from 2010 indicated these guys might work. never used them myself but i was surprised that something even existed.

The way I understand it, you need a garmin sender for every data point you want to see. At $200 per unit this will get expensive fast.

Why not just use the analog gauges?

I will continue to use the analog gauges but I am jut looking to see if there is a possibility to add the info in.
