upgrading mechanical fuel pumps to electric fuel pumps ??

I have a 97 330 da and was thinking upgrading mechanical fuel pumps on 7.4 litre v-drives to electric fuel pumps. I was told that factory did this by implimenting the oil pressure sender to close the circuit up to electrify the fuel pumps once oil pressure was recieved ?? Any suggestions thanks for your response. Davepnola

If you go to summitracing.com you can order Holley Marine (Red pumps) and the fuel pump cutoff sender. You will also need a brass tee that enables you to use the cutoff sender and the factory sender at the same time. Add to that wiring, mechanical fuel blockoff plate, fuses and relays. It is a great upgrade.
