I am looking for some guidance on replacing the old electronics on my (new to me) 2004 340 SDA. I am replacing the old Raymarine SL70C MFD, Raymarine Radome, original transducer, Raystar 120 GPS sensor, and Clarion Radio/remote.
So I purchased a new Garmin 942xs, Garmin GMR 18 xHD Radar, Garmin 19X GPS sensor, B150M Chirp Transducer, Fusion AV650 radio, Fusion Remote, and NMEA 2000 starter kit with STng/NMEA2000 connection cable.
I also want to use my existing Raymarine Auto Pilot P70R (ACU-200), and Smartcraft System SC5000.
The problem I see is that everything was on SeaTalk and/or STng. I want to upgrade every to NMEA 2000, so since I am getting rid of the old Chartplotter and radar, can I remove the Sea Talk and just use Stng to NMEA 2000? Also, how do I get my SC5000 to communicate with my Garmin 942xs?
Thanks for the support in advance.
