With my new stereo upgrade my house batteries need to be charged off the generator quite often. My current 20amp charger is not doing the trick. I would like to upgrade to 80amp or even 100 amp.
Or add a completely different charger for the house batteries only. The ones I found online are $1000 or better. I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to up my amperage without spending so much money.

Call ProMariner, explain your current state/future state, and get a recommendation and a quick quote. They've been very, very helpful by phone, and I've heard great things about service after the sale from people who have purchased. I can't speak to whether pricing will vary substantially from what you've seen already, but it's probably worth a few minutes on the phone to find out!

Totally agree - ProMariner. Customer service guy was extremely helful picking best product. Charger works great.

Silly question...maybe...but are you sure it's a charger issue and not a battery issue? How many batteries do you currently have and what size/type are they?

I have what I consider to be a healthy stereo system (for me anyway?) and I can run for 5+ hours at moderate/high volume with two fridges running, use the vacuflush a few times, run the water and still start the engines fine without the generator being used. I've got 3 not-so-fancy lead-acid house batteries.

My two cents only....

I agree sound like a battery problem. I would have them checked ...properly!

I have only two house batteries. They are new. They also take a charge just fine. My charger is just not fast enough to get my money's worth out of the generator.
My system is drawing 10-20 amps depending on volume level.
If cranked I can peak past 30 amps.
In other words I see no issues with the batteries. I just prefer to top them off with one hour of geni run time rather than 3-4 hours.
I would love to add another house battery. Has anyone done this on the 95-99 330 Sundancer?

The maximum load capacity is limited by the type of battery (% of total capacity)
- AGM 30%
- Gel 50%
- Li-ion 100%

So, if you have 2 x 100Ah AGM = 60A load rate. If you use 20A during loading, you can add and use charger of 80Ah

AGM you can discharge up to 70%, normal batteries only 50%

My batteries are 96 amp hr each
yes I know to wire in parallel. Not really enough space.
Aside from that my charger will not handle the extra battery even if I did get one in there.
I will look in to the leads mentioned in this post.
I have some kind of phobia with battery voltage. Makes me nuts and my generator has been paying the price.
