I have friend who just I just helped with a new TV install in his 07 380. The issue with the new install was the original frame, it would no longer fit because of the new TV “wide screen” format. So I got my expert wood worker on the job. I made all the measurements and made a scale ACAD drawing of the new panel with an accurate cutout. My friend then went to work building the frame and even adding some custom engraving for some “style points”.

We installed everything the other night with great success. Here is a picture of the results.

And a couple of beers to get through the job I see... :smt038

Really nice job!! Love the woodwork look and SR engraving. What size TV is that, mine has a 20" Sharp there.

Really nice work!

Of course, there is always beer involved with project work!

I’m not sure of the size; I know it is a Samsung 1080p LCD. He wanted to get a digital TV to replace the analog installed by the Factory.

Any pics of the back side?

We did not take any pictures of the back, but the back uses the original piece that came from Sea Ray. It’s a two piece frame, the piece we made goes on the TV side, then there is another one on the back side of the frame. The back side of the piece we made was stained by it cannot be seen.

Very nice work! Bill, I see stainless/gray "something" to the left of the TV which is proof that white is not what you need :)

The work Bill has posted was on my Dancer 38. He really came through with the careful design and accuate measurements. Will probably change out the other two analog TV's next winter. Much easier job to do those. Thanks Bill, you really came through. When Bill says he's going to do something, you can count on it. No idle discussion, just fantastic work. And yes, we did enjoy a few Heinekens while going the work. Just sayin!

This season we are enjoying the fruits of his labor with our HD TV.

I'm looking to do the same on our 40DA. in fact, I purchased a larger screen and took everything apart only to realize the mismatched size of the opening. returned the TV to Costco and put it on the back burner. Does anyone know of a source to make the wood panel, as shown in the OP? Any other advice before I reboot this project? I'm likely to redo the whole system, moving to HDMI.

I'm very interested in how you make out with this project. Please share your findings.
