Upgrade for Clarion CDM4

Hi,,


I have a Clarion CDM4 with 2 remotes CMRC1, and i need to replace the unit, and i don't want to change the remotes.



Question:

Can i use a CDM5 with out change wires and remotes?
can i go further? CDM6?

Yes, to the CDMA 5 as I recall having switched out one in a previous boat. Not sure about the 6. I would go on their website and compare the owner's manuals. What new features does the 6 have?

I just did that exact upgrade (CMD4 -> CMD5) and all remotes work fine. The CMD6 would not work with the same remotes.

Crimson..... did you changed any wire? or was just unplug it / plug it?

I dont know the difference between the models, the problem its find it. its too old

All the plugs were identical. I never unpackaged the new accessory bag because everything was the same. I gained a remote control that was not with the CMD4.

The one I found was a reconditioned unit and everything looked like it was brand new. All packaging was still sealed.
