Updating Boat Gauges.

Folks,

I have a 1977 25' Sea Ray SVX240 w/ GM 350 engine. I would like to know if the instrument gauges sold by Overton's or another major marine store would match up with the old wiring (32 years old). I'm hoping to replace my spedo, tach, oil, water, trim, fuel, hour and volt gauges. Should I be expecting to run into difficulty with the wiring match, or will this be as simple as disconnect the old and reconnect the new. Any help would be appreciated.

You may want to consider changing the wiring while you are at it. 32 years of gremlins could be ginormous.

Most will directly interchange. I used a complete set from Kendor:

Simply reconnecting all your wiring should cure most gremlins and allow a good inspection. Be sure to upgrade to LED gauge lighting while you're at it. Now would also be the time for a new gauge panel:
