Not done yet but recovered all v-berth cushions, 'backrest' and trim boards. Still have to put the 'backrest' on but need to get new screws tomorrow. Just picked everything up today. Looks much better and more current. The old stuff was the original from 1986 but was still in good shape.

WOW, That's a lot of felt/carpet back then. Looks good though.

That can be stripped off and foam backed vinyl can be installed with spay adhesive. That would really modernize the look.

Thanks everyone. I would love to replace the 'monkey fur' but my hope is to upgrade soon so not sure I want to get into that much work. This whole interior upgrade was only about $300-400. We bought the material at JoAnn Fabrics and did all of the plywood backed parts ourselves. The two tabletop cushions were foam filled with zippers so had a shop do those and the backrests (same shop that did the camper top).

Once the backrests are back on and the pillows back in place it should look much better. I'll post more pics when it is done.

Got the backrests installed today. Waiting on the button covers to hide the screws (or decorate them). Going to buy some tannish colored pillows that should go well (that pattern has goldish accents) .

The cushions look fantastic. Nice upgrade.
I think you can get by with keeping the “fun fur” if it’s as clean as it looks in the pictures.
I redid the Vee bunk and aft berth cushions on my 87 300. The thought of pulling down all that fun fur and replacing it was daunting. So since it was clean with no stains I left it, and it looked fine.

Thanks. There is one dark spot on the fur right under where one of the screws are for the bow teak. I redid the teak over the winter and a few pieces were still tacky in a few spots. After I put it on I noticed a dark spot so I think it might have bled through? I used 4200 on the screws but guessing as it was fresh and still not sealed the teak oil bled through? Haven't tried to clean it yet.

Yeah, no kidding. Pretty standard for the era though. My father in law had a ~1985 Century express cruiser and the cabin was covered in that fur carpet too. It always felt like one of those shag vans. His upgrade to a 1998 270 felt so much more modern, even with the ruching in the cabin cushions.

New cushions look great!

Looks Great. I did mine over as well. Don’t know what they were thinking back in 1997 when they designed these interiors.
