So after fighting with the A/C u it for the past 4 Days I am stumped. I used Barnicle Buster on Friday and let it sit and bust loose all the crap for 6 hours before I restarted the unit and to my surprise, it made absolutely no difference. The unit in my guest bedroom will run for 2 minutes and shut off. After 30 seconds it restarts the compressor and immediately shuts back off. It will do that for a total of three times and then display the "low/ps"

I also removed the water intake and out going lines from the unit to make sure that we had good water flow and we noticed that the copper line coming from the unit was a little squished, so we rounded it back out and that made no difference. I have very good water flow from the discharge thru-hull.

On Sunday A buddy of mine came down to throw some gauges on the unit and see if we were low on R22. We were showing 60 PSI. Here is what we found weird. It appeared that the reverse valve was stuck in the middle and wouldn't fully open or fully close. We tapped on it and and got it working after about 20 minutes of tapping and messing with the wires. So when we cycle from hot to cold we were getting hot and cold air like it should. But, it was still shutting off after it ran for two minutes. We also tried bypassing the high and low pressure switch and that made no difference at all. (all we did was used a jumper wire between each terminal and not sure if that actually bypasses it)

What we did notice is that the low pressure line on the top of the compressor is not getting cold but the line to the condenser is getting ice cold when we are set to cold. My A/C guy is saying that the line on the top of the compressor with the fill fitting on it should be getting cold when the A/C is on.

I also tried swapping the SMX 2 control panel with the one from the salon and that made no difference.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing the issue or does it sound like it is time to kiss this unit good bye

Thanks in advance
Steve

When you flushed with the barnacle buster, did you just let it sit, or did you circulate it. I always pull the lines apart and circulate thru each unit, one at a time. Did you flush system with fresh water from dock after. That will remove a lot of debris from the lines. LO PS usually means lack of air flow, where HIGH PS is lack of water. Lowes or Home depot sell a spray condenser cleaner, spray on let sit and rinse off, I usually pull the unit to do that.

I really don't think that the water is the issue. The flow from the unit is very good. Probably better then it has ever been

Is the blower fan motor running? If it locks up, the unit will overheat quickly and cycle off.

Contact these guys. More than likely, they built it originally.
Helped me with my 96 model AC on a Maxum I had. Turned out, it was only a digital board issue. Couple 2 or 3 hundred boat bucks, worked like a new one!

I was going to mention that on the 4th I woke up to an issue with my AC. Called their tech support line and within about 30 minutes a tech called me back to diagnose my issue. I have received great product support/service from their support line on two different occasions.

Will you be able to replace just the switch?

Yes you can but the tech actually told me that they no longer put the lower pressure switch on units and that I can bypass it and not worry about it

Today I vacuumed out the condenser and ran compressed air through the condenser and it still shut down even with compressed air pushing through the condenser. Just a minute or two away from throwing the u it in the lake
