Up Trim Solenoid

Last time I was out my up trim solenoid stuck in the closed position. I was able to get back to the dock by holding the down trim button in to keep the engine in the water. Tapping on it with a screwdriver handle got it working again but I'm not sure for how long. I'll be replacing both the up and the down trim solenoids since they both look like the original equipment. I guess I can't complain since they lasted 28 years. Anything I need to be careful about when replacing them?

Plumbers crack and power, make sure you shut the batteries off. The power line is hot and can hit metal and fry something else

I replaced both the up and down trim solenoids today. Everything went well once I got the correct parts. The part numbers were on the bottom of the solenoids so I couldn't see them until I took the solenoids off. If anyone is interested, the correct part number for the trim solenoid for a 1993 Mercury 150 hp Black Max is 89-818997T 1.
