Unofficial Splash Tomorrow

Could your props be on the wrong sides if your throttles pressing forward is taking you in reverse?

No, I stamped the props when I took them off. I looked up under the control box on the bridge and the connection on the top was broke, so the PO moved the cables to the bottom holes, thus having everything a$$ backwards. He did the same thing in the cabin, so I think it was done so he would not have to buy new controls.

This will be an expensive fix as the original SR controls are probably no longer available. They are made from junk metal anyway. Oh well, it’s just money...........:smt009

Looking at your picture, your props appear to be on the wrong sides. Props are supposed to turn away from the centerline of the boat. Unless the picture is a negative exposure, your props will turn inboard to drive the boat forward. This setup will cost more in fuel as well as inward turning props suck the transom downward.

Dayum- talk about muddy...

Forgive the ignorance... but Alaska...isn't it supposed to be winter there? As in really friggin' cold?? I think it's colder here in FL. In fact, the water temp here is still so cold- it was in the upper 40's in my canal- that I haven't been able to clean my bottom in nearly three months. I don't own a drysuit! At least you're able to get out on the water...

Just in case you weren't aware- if/when you replace your topside gauges be sure you get the ones for dual station setups. They're calibrated to work on half the impedence.

OK it is possible the PO had them installed wrong, as I just stamped them and put them back on the way they came off.

My engines are also counter-rotating. Does that matter?

Keep in mind I am an outboard jet (riverboat) kind of guy, so this is my first time with this kind of boat.
