Unless I've missed it.......

OK....for you forward thinkers on this topic... Lets pick one thing from the Jan 6th Committee Investigation and dissect it:

There exists a recorded phone call from Trump to the State of Georgia-Republican Secretary of State, asking him "“I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have,” and then pressuring him with “a criminal offense” if he doesn't.

Trump went on to state: “You know what they did and you’re not reporting it,” the president said during the call. “You know, that’s a criminal — that’s a criminal offense. And you know, you can’t let that happen. That’s a big risk to you and to Ryan, your lawyer. That’s a big risk.”

He added: “The people of Georgia are angry, the people of the country are angry. And there’s nothing wrong with saying that, you know, um, that you’ve recalculated.”

Trump's pressure (as President at the time) is a violation of State and Federal law and this is why there is a Grand Jury investigating it and issuing subpoenas to his attorney (Eastman) as well as Senator L. Graham.

1) Cant be fake news (there is a recorded phone call)
2) Trump cant claim "it wasn't him" (It his voice in the recording)
3) Trump cant claim it is taken out of context (its recorded)
4) Trump cant claim "its not a big deal"...Grand Juries aren't seated for frivolity.
5) Republican Secretary of State has testified to the veracity of the call.
6) Trump claims votes were "stolen" or "fraudulent";
The Georgia State investigators say they have not found anywhere near enough fraud cases to put in doubt Biden’s 11,779-vote victory in Georgia.

I believe the Hearings are legit, that many political leaders understand how serious the actual threat to our (relatively new compared to world standards) democracy was, and that enforcing some laws about trying to overthrow your own government. There must be some accountability for for some scarily outlandish behavior. If anyone feels our government is so unreasonable they need to behave as so many did Jan 6, they need to move to a third world country where that type of behavior is acceptable.

Finally a voice of reason in the wilderness

I have not seen a thread on CSR about the Jan 6th Committee hearings. I've watched a few of the live hearings but not all.

I would be interested from hearing from those of you who believe it's all true and from those who believe it's all a clown show.

I got my popcorn and am waiting.....
start a thread? So you can all agree with each other and call those of us that might have differing opinions names?

Sure to be shouted down shortly…

Enjoy

DONALD TRUMP WAS INTIMATELY INVOLVED IN THE CAMPAIGN TO OVERTURN THE ELECTION.

TRUMP WAS TOLD BY CLOSE AIDES AND HIS OWN APPOINTEES THAT HE HAD LOST A FREE AND FAIR ELECTION.

REPUBLICAN MEMBERS OF CONGRESS WERE PERSONALLY INVOLVED IN THE ELECTION-REVERSAL PLOT AND SOUGHT PARDONS IN THE WAKE OF JANUARY 6.

TRUMP AND HIS ASSOCIATES’ FAKE ELECTION CLAIMS UNLEASHED A TORRENT OF VICIOUS THREATS AGAINST ELECTION OFFICIALS AND THEIR FAMILIES.

You cant hide from testimony from the very Republican Appointees you hired, recorded phone conversations and copies of texts and emails.

But yeah....its a "hoax" and a "witch Hunt"

You forgot to mention “…CNN reporting”

Total bullshit. Meanwhile this zombie of a president sells the Chinese oil from US strategic reserves through his crackhead son’s company.

Former Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale wrote in the aftermath of the Jan. 6 riot that he felt “guilty” for helping Trump win the presidency, and blamed him directly for a death that occurred during the attack on the Capitol.

“This is about trump pushing for uncertainty in our country,” Parscale said in texts to Katrina Pierson, a former Trump campaign official who was reportedly involved in organizing Trump’s pre-riot rally.

“A sitting president asking for civil war,” Parscale wrote. “This week I feel guilty for helping him win.”

Pierson replied: “You did what you felt was right at the time and therefore it was right.”

Parscale responded, “Yeah. But a woman is dead,” adding with apparent shock, “Yeah. If I was trump and knew my rhetoric killed someone.”

Pierson told him, “It wasn’t the rhetoric.”

But Parscale shot back: “Katrina. Yes it was.”

Trumps own White House Attorney testified:
  • Conceding the election: In clips from Cipollone’s deposition, he agreed with other Trump officials that there was not sufficient evidence of election fraud. Cipollone specifically testified that he believed Trump should've conceded the election. Many other Trump White House officials shared the view that once the litigation on alleged voting fraud ended and the Electoral College met, the election was over — including Ivanka Trump and former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany.

This must be more of that ‘dumbfuckery’ you discussed earlier o_O Maybe you should Oscar Mike.

One of the more dishonest stories aimed at then-President Donald Trump was the one claiming he pressured the Georgia Secretary of State to steal the election. It was a very dishonest story that went through the news cycle for weeks. Democrats called for criminal charges against Donald Trump.

He was only asking for him to look for legitimate votes.

The Washington Post had released deceptively-edited audio of Trump telling Raffensperger to “find” fraudulent votes during a lawful audit and overturn the fraud that took place in Georgia.

Later in the day, the Washington Post released the full audio, but the fake news media had already deceived many misled followers into believing the lies.

In big news today, The Washington Post issued a retraction: Correction: Two months after publication of this story, the Georgia secretary of state released an audio recording of President Donald Trump’s December phone call with the state’s top elections investigator. The recording revealed that The Post misquoted Trump’s comments on the call, based on information provided by a source. Trump did not tell the investigator to “find the fraud” or say she would be “a national hero” if she did so. Instead, Trump urged the investigator to scrutinize ballots in Fulton County, Ga., asserting she would find “dishonesty” there. He also told her that she had “the most important job in the country right now.” A story about the recording can be found here. The headline and text of this story have been corrected to remove quotes misattributed to Trump.
