So just over two weeks ago i started preparing for this season....engine oil change, reinstalling the outdrive, gear oil change and zinc change.
Took a break on Sunday 1st of May to go visit the inlaws over 40 mins away from my house.. Chatted away with my brother in law having a laugh with him as we always did on a Sunday evening.... returned home to find a missed call on my phone from my mother in law.... rang her back to find he had taking ill... but as things were explained over the phone it didnt sound good at all.
He lay on his sofa to rest shortly after I had spoken to him... his 11 year old daughter was the only one at home at the time... she heard a loud bang as he fell from the sofa face down onto the floor.... his daughter raised the alarm and his mother & brother were with him within seconds..... Ambulances, paramedic and the air ambulance all arrived on scene quickly but sadly he couldnt be saved.
What a loss at 39 years of age.... a fine fit young man (over 6ft tall not overweight)... leaving two beautiful girls behind and wonderful wife. We are awaiting the post mortem results but it would appear to be a cardiac arrest.... with no heart complaint history on either side of his family its hard to come to terms with this one.
The shock of this will never leave us.... so ill be making the most of life... doing the things which bring me the most happiness ... spending time with family, and of course boating on our waterways here in Ireland.
Remember guys it can all change in the blink of an eye so make the most out of ever day!!
RIP Kenneth – see you again on the other side
