Underwater LED Light Install

Worse than that, it made me whip out my CC and order 4 lights NOW.
Surprisingly, they showed up in 2 days via Priority mail. All the better!

OH GOSH! now you're making me think hard about it and possibly take the plunge to do it.

I go out of town for about 36 hours and you guys go CRAZY with the lights! I love it! I 've got some other stuff up my sleeve... But I'll post them a little later! I haven't got all the details hammered out yet but, when I do, I'll post up pics!

You guys post up some pics when you all get them installed! Would love to see them!

I ALMOST did but i've got to order new bellows, gimbal bearing ect... first. Can't be doing appearance modifications when the out drive needs to be installed.

Maybe ill order some in a week or so.

I was thinking maybe two(maybe even 4) blue ones for the transom and 2 bright whites for the engine compartment.

They've got a bunch of other cool ideas on that sight as well.

These are cheap enough that I'm going after 2 projects.
First to light up the engine room as I now have a camera mounted. Always wanted to be able to see what was happening down there while underway.

Second is to do a tab mount like Merge360. I am in water full time, so I'll need to think about anti fouling paint, etc. May elect to go under the platform for now.

Pretty sure you have the same swim platform as mine.

I installed these Blue LED lights on the bottom of the platform with the wires going directly into void between bottom and top of platfrom.

I was able to reach 6' leads and run wiring through engine bilge.
Wired them to cockpit lights under rear seating.

Great color and large area when lit!

I'm in for 6 blue lights from Oznium.

I will take some pics once they are installed.

I will take some pics once I dunk her in a few weeks.

Cheers,

Randy.

Do you leave the boat in for the season? If so, what's your plan for anti-fouling paint on the lights? same as the tabs, or no paint?

the price difference is awesome, but i loved the thought of a thru hull better and its brass, the diff colors are bad ass too but how far is that led really gonna go, in a brakish water, I will take some pics of mine tonight and show you tomorrow but i wanna see the oz's in the water

mount thos babd boys up and post some pics, i will post some pics when i can make it out to the boat.

looking for another product for my underwater lights. i will use the ones i have now for something else.

any laws related to adding lights to the boat?

You bet there are! I was thinking about this when looking over all the color choices. Blue in the wrong place will get you in trouble. Red in the wrong place may get you a collision.
This kind of lighting is best left to low cockpit illumination, transoms under water, and bling at the dock.

Ehaze...

Here's a few choices for your underwater transom lights.... Most all of them are CRAZY expensive, but, if that's the look your going for, by all means, do it up bro! Also, these lights are MUCH LARGER than the LED's from Oznium... And, these do have to be water cooled....

Yes, there are laws that apply to the lights.... I know for sure red and blue are "A ticket waiting to happen"... Check the boating regs for your area... Looks like they differ state to state... I use my better judgment when running with mine on, and , as crazy as it sounds, have had the lights complimented on by the local authorities! But another boater, the same night, had a boat full of people, a boat full of beer and all of his LED's on (they were red), wasn't so lucky....

I spoke with him after the authorities did... They issued him a ticket for $325.00...
