I am going to replace the indirect rope lighting on our 2005 420 DA. The rope ends on the starboard side of the bed and the other end goes into an area of the hull on the port side of the boat (switch is on the starboard side) that I can't see into or know how to get to. I cannot see it when I look into the ac compartment or pull the storage drawers under the bed. I assume it is hooked up to power there but cant find the end of it. Has anyone ever changed their rope lights under their main front cabin? Thanks.

I replaced mine in our 38 Sundancer last year. I ordered the light strip from Defender.com
701218WWL12V Imtra Flexible LED Strip Tape - 4 ft. w/ Leads - Exterior - Warm White - 12V

If you lay on the floor, you should be able to look up and see the light tucked in under the berth. I just cut the wires, stripped and spliced the new ones in and the remounted the new light. Mine was the same as yours, the wires are on the port side of the berth. The tape works ok, but I used Gorilla double sided tape in a few places to get a stronger grip.

Yes I did it with led a few years ago. If I remember right I took that bumper cushion thing on the end off and the connection is right there on the port side at end of rope light ….. it was very simple. I did the over head light in main cabin at same time

One more question, How do these lights turn on? Floor and stair light switch??

No indirect switch, Maybe Sam can let me know. Obviously I’ll figure this out when the LED strip arrives.
