Quick question.

I want to change out the antifreeze in my '96 370 with twin 7.4s. (Boat is new to me).

I assume that it requires 50/50 ethylene glycol such as a typical Prestone "green" product. Am I correct?

Just wanted to make sure that there was not a Dex-type product in use at the time.

Thanks from a newbie.

This straight from the Mercruiser service manual...
"Use a 50/50 mixture of ethylene glycol antifreeze and pure soft water for coolant additions."
"IMPORTANT: ALCOHOL OR METHANOL BASE ANTIFREEZE OR PLAIN WATER ARE NOT RECOMMENDED FOR USE IN COOLING SYSTEM AT ANY TIME"

I am just changing mine I picked up the Mercruiser 50/50 mix which is orange from Sea Ray dealer their realllly proud of it $18.95 a gallon it is an extended life 1000 hour corrosion protecting marine antifreeze they say it will not cause jelling if it's mixed with other types I don't want to find out.
