As most of you know I just purchased my first Sea Ray this month a 1988 340 EC. She needs a lot of work and I told some I would keep them in the loop.
Good news is the bruises from the bilge pump replacements have disappeared and the scarring is at a minimum to the upper torso I can move, so I declare success at that task.
The stereo is replaced and I finally got all eight speakers working, of course not at the same time. Gotta tell ya I love that transfer switch, I mean who knew what it really did?(sarcasm):smt017.
The admiral got a wild hair.....anyway she purchased a steam cleaner and has been going at it in the galley area, a nice difference in the headliner and it looks really great compared to the nicotine that apparently was in there to begin with. The carpets are in need of replacing but that will have to wait along with the other mounting things for now it's all the same blended color. We have gotten the living quarters all polished and cleaned so it's beginning to get that "loved" look.
Tackled the cockpit this weekend and with the help of Buff Magic, a polisher, Advil, Crown and Corona, some 56 Meguires she looking pretty good. I wont get a real good cleaning on the rest of the exterior till the marina turns on the water.
This weekend I plan on replacing the starter(s) and a couple of other items in the engine compartment. Got to replace the anchor light on the arch. Weather permitting and the marina, scrub the deck and start with Buff Magic on the fiberglass.
Any thoughts on the Collinite #925 wax?
This is why we have boats I tell my friends, because we enjoy working on them and we love the rewards:smt014.
A to do list is already compiled for next year...
