Two Products

Saw these two products on Ship Shape TV. They looked pretty good. Anyone heard, seen, or used any of these? Thoughts?

First one is Mr. Funnel. They have a size that will work at the fuel pump. It removes any sediment including sand, rust, etc... and also water. It looked pretty amazing...

The second product was the Q1 Neutra-Salt engine flusing system by Volvo.

Flushes your engine while the boat is sitting in the water -- there is no need to trailer your boat or hook up to a freshwater supply in order to flush and protect your engine

Helps protect your engine from saltwater damage

Helps prevent corrosion by removing salt deposits, leaving a protective corrosion inhibitor on all metal surfaces, including: Power-steering and oil cooler, engine block, exhaust manifold and risers, thermostat housing, circulating and raw-water pumps

I also watched the same show w/ the G-Man pushing that funnel. I thought that it looked pretty interesting. What he didn't show us is where the water/sand went and how much the replacement filters cost for that funnel. I'm guessing that you would have to change a paper filter every time if that much junk went in. Love the G-Man but as you may have noticed he's all about the sponsors at times. His show should be one hour (instead of 30 mins.) and less commercials and more fiberglass/boating IMHO.

Salt Away / Salt Terminator are two products I have used to flush my motor everytime I finished boating in the Gulf. Earmuffs and 10 minutes later job accomplished. The on board flushing system sounds great if your going to leave your boat in the water long term.

Petep... The site says that they do not sell new filters as the filters don't wear out. Plus the cost of the filters is the greatest put of the funnel cost.

Stihlbolts... I haven't done this yet as I don't pick up my new boat until April. The neighbors house is fairly close to ours so I was a bit worried about starting the boat up in the driveway to flush the engine. For 200 bucks or so plus installation, it seemed like maybe a way to eliminate that problem. 45 seconds before pulling the boat up on the trailer and done.

Your neighbor would be no more disturbed than if you used the weed whacker or lawn mower. Hooking up the water hose with a set of ear muffs to the out drive and running the engine till it reaches operating temp is not a noisy activity.

The Salt Terminator "Kit" comes with a applicator that you put the fluid in line with the ear muffs and hose. Turn water on, turn valve on, start motor, 10 minutes later your done. While that's being done you wipe down the inside of the boat or stand talking to your neighbor as he jealously admires your new boat and respects your ingenuity in maintenance!

Don't know about the first product but I've heard the neutra salt system is really good. Heard that from a Regal owner who swears by it.

You shouldn't be revving the rpms up that high out of the water anyway. At idle the boat isn't really that load. There is a louder roar at startup and then it quiets down.

My neighbors might have more of a problem with my music being loud than the motor!

Unless they have some kind of adaptor, those funnels won't work if your fuel opening is mounted vertically. Mine is that way and I had to buy a flexible spout funnel just to put in my fuel stabilizer. :smt021

Yes that is the part that comes with the "Kit" for Salt Terminator. Nutra Salt, Salt Terminator, Salt Away all work.
