OK, I hope I do not ramble too much, and you can follow me.

I have been trying to guess my family's activities, and I think the kids would love some action such as towables, skiing, just moving or some fishing. I think they would get tired of the old drop anchor and enjoy the sitting around.

I would like some cruising, and a few overnights, even if just alone.

As such, I was looking at maybe a sunsport as a nice boat that is sporty, but kind of transcends a cruiser.

I absolutely have fallen in love with the 310SS lines and layout, and most appear to come with AC/heat.... but I have not seen any with a genset.

I did see a 280SS with both twin 5.7's and a genset, but was more than I wanted to pay, and was sold before I talked myself into paying more than I wanted! (LOL).... I also love the 310ss / Pachanga 32 forward berth and huge sun pad.

Now, I noticed some Pachangas, and albeit older, something looked familiar. Is the Pechanga the 1st generation SS? I think so, as on the SR archives I see the abbreviation went from Pachanga 32 to PA310-SS to just 310SS over say 3-4 years

Next, can anyone comment on what kind of a boat the Pachanga (specifically the 32) is, and/or the SunSport in the 31'ish range? Love it? Hate it? Shoulda got a dancer instead? - - that kind of feedback!

I read that some have had problems, but I am guessing that the problems are that they have a 20+ year old boat and powerplants and systems- - not that there is/ was anything inherently wrong with the design.

Problems with finding parts? (I saw the one issue with finding the composite engine mounts)

Would love comments!

The Pachanga is more performance oriented than the SS. That is, faster, better handling hull, while the SS is a bit more comfy and posh. Both are very nice.

I have a 280SS.

You can overnight with two people. . but not four. . on that boat. I would be a bit hesitant to add the weight of a genset and AC on that size boat. (though I am sure people do it). As for day cruising. . the 280SS is an AWESOME boat.
