Finally got the motor on the "new to me" 2001 225 weekender running. This board has been so helpful. Now two new issues:
1. Fresh water is not circulating. Can't even hear the pump when button is pressed. I'm sure it's probably a broken pump but where is it and where do I get a new one. Or what are my trouble shooting procedures.
2. Trim indicator on dash board is constantly saying its in the up position when I know well enough that it's fully down. Again trouble shooting and repair replace

But at least she is in the water now and running. Thanks in advance to all the far more experienced boaters on this forum.

1. Your pump is mounted near or on your water tank. I hit the SROC site, and I thought my documentation was lacking, but your stuff doesn't appear to be labeled right or complete. I found a complete owner's manual for a 2005, but it appears your tank and pump are in the center bilge compartment. I would check there. Before you worry about the pump, clean all of the crap out of the inline strainer..stuff tends to grow in there. Then, once that is clean, turn on the fresh water switch and listen for the pump. If you don't hear anything, check the breaker. If that all checks out, you may have a dead pump. A nice replacement is: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00VHO308M/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

2. The trim sensor is probably bad. It is mounted at the top of your outdrive, and is sold as a pair with the trim limit sensor. They go bad often and can be a pain to replace. Do a search in the forum, and you will come up with many threads on them.

And, congrats on getting her in the water! We just got ours splashed after replacing the lower unit (Ouch), so I know the feeling.

Thanks. I found the pump, cleaned out the filter and thought with all the crap in it that would have been the problem. Turned it on and blew a fuse again I am wondering if there is restriction in the impeller. Might take it apart before I order another.

I I know it's nice to have a trim indicator but how much and how hard would it be to fix. Too much and too hard I'll live with out.

I'd love more input. Being a hand me down boat I'm finding more things needing attention or that I'm not sure I'm doing incorrect. Most important navigation/running lights. I Haven't started the engine as it doesn't seem to matter I think. But bulbs are all good fuses are all good I hit the switch and nothing Can't get a voltmeter in the stern light and don't seem to know how to measure the bow lights. Need help trouble shooting as I love night rides
thanks in advance
