Tv led/lcd???? Confused

Last thing I need on a TV is a wifi connection and software -> is anybody offering upgrades on firmware/software over time?

As time goes on, the less I look for in a TV.
My current TV is nothing more than a monitor for the Playstation, DVR, and computer. Cheaper to upgrade the software if you don't have to upgrade the glass at the same time!

LED vs LCD: Now that is a monitor issue worthy of discussion!

60hz vs 120hz vs 240 hz -> enough to make your head spin!

The network ready TV's can be set to update the firmware overnight automatically. Mine has only done this once when I first set it up. The internet ready apps like Netflix, streaming music and many others are handy if you already have accounts with these services. These systems will also search your network for media servers and set them up automatically. I also have a 32" LED LCD on the boat and installed the new MAC Mini as an onboard computer. The Mac has native HDMI out so I have a 32" HD monitor to work on at full 1080p.

Not any longer! I just bought a 60" LG plasma last fall and it is a little over 1" thick and very light, much lighter than my older 42" plasma. Go with plasma as it is a proven technology and has a great picture. Look at the new LG plasma, you will like it.

Just got my $245 in free money from Best Buy after signing up for Direct TV, and then buying some stuff. Used it to buy more stuff. Samsung LED LCD HDTV for the forward stateroom - very, very nice little TV. I've had a lot of luck lately with Samsung (bridge tv..). I hope their phones are good too. Just ordered from the dark side (smart phone for dumb guy).

Can you give us some specifics on your 12v LED TV? Brand, model, size, etc. I am interested in getting a 22" +/- LED TV. Thanks.

Sure.
I'll get the info and pass it along.
The 12V is usually the reason the optional TV's on boats are more money we're told.

Too bad Insignia's std LED HDTVs aren't 12V any more.
