GAP???

What gap???

Well thats good then! At least I tried to match up the woodgrain which coincidentally did pretty well. Thank guys! I guess my southern-tooth-gap door will take care of the cooling then! (No offense to southerners!)

I now have to put in something to block off the hole that is inside the cabinet. I don't want stuff falling down behind the fridge! That is WAY down there! I was thinking some sort of wire basket type stuff? I was also thinking of a rolling basket that you pull out on guides.

Why not just cut a new floor insert that covers the gap? However, I would look at whether the gap is also a heat vent for the fridge. If so, then staple some plastic netting across the back and be careful what you throw in there.

I am planning to make a door in a similar fashion. Does anyone know where to get a small quantity of the Sovereign Cherry polycarbonate veneer? RestorationMarine.com sells a 4x8 sheet for $650, but I only need about a 2x2 piece.

Thanks,

Scott

Why not buy a regular piece of veneer and stain and polyurethane it to match? You can purchase just about any full sheet of veneer for $100 or less.

Thanks Doug, but I'd rather not mess with staining and finishing. I don't think I'd ever get it to look quite right.

Anybody know where to get some of the original laminate?

I tried to find some for my '05 300DA with cherry interior - I called restoration marine and they sent me some samples - none of them quite matched as min has a "tiger stripe" running through it - The guy from RM was extremely helpful and stuck with it - eventually he found out searay had sorced it out of a now defunct company in the netherlands - I believe they only did it in 05 and I don't know what models or production dated it affects

I stumbled into some at my local MM dealer. I suspect some have sheets in the back room for repairs and don't realize its now $650/sheet. I got a piece to replace my freezer for $25 at MM Cumming, GA. If you take your sample in, it doesn't hurt to ask.
