The admiral and I have looked and researched and looked some more. Just an overall opinion, it appears that a Glomex antenna may be the best by a small margin. With that said, what is the best way to get the wire from the radar arch to the port side of the cabin? Does the antenna itself require power-12v or 110? Does the gain control require power? I have pulled many a wire in a house, but this is a different critter. How easy is it to remove pieces of trim to run wiring behind? We just purchased a 12v/110 Skyworth TV. I have also purchased a mount with 2 bases. The plan is to mount one base on the end of the cabinet on the portside and the other on the radar arch above the cockpit sink to give us the flexibility of watching inside or out. Any hints and opinions would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

On my 290 all my wires run from my arch to the starboard side of the boat. From there they run inside the gunnel at the height of the rub rail, forward to the cabin to my DC control panel. I then ran them over the head liner in the cabin to the port side by removing the light fixtures. I also ran a cable to the lazarette where my shore power plugs in so I can plug in power and cable at the same time.

Have you tried old fashioned rabbit ears? Don't laugh. That's how I do it. I plug my rabbit ears in at the lazarette when we're on the hook.
