Will this antenna work if your kinda in a bowl? Kinda surrounded by mountains? About 40-50 miles range?

Not quite ready to spend the bucks just for on the hook TV, unless I have to. Already have Direct TV @ the dock. Just looking for local channels on the hook. The glowmax does not pick up the channels strong enough. Already have digital TV's

Use the stimulus money and order your $40 HD converter box card. Hook it up in your boat and you will be amazed on the number of channels as well as clarity of them. Even get a weather channel which is great.

The converter box only allows an analog TV to receive the DTV channels, it does not have any antenna. The amount of channels and strength of the channels you get, will depend on your distance from the towers, the type of antenna you choose, and the number of stations in your area. I suspect that there are many more channels available in the Virginia area than in Minnesota.

Chalk one up to VA then. Works like a charm for me, though then again I hardly ever watch TV on my boat. Rather it is a kids thing to do early in the morning or in the evening.
