:smt100I just purchased a Shakespeare Sea Watch 2025, my question is - how far should I put the TV antenna from the VHF antenna?

I just installed the same antenna last week. I have the VHF antenna installed on the starboard side, and installed the TV antenna directly opposite on the port side. I didn't want it cluttering up the deck, so I used a Shakespeare 4 foot extension, and it sits nicely above the Bimini top. I initially used a very inexpensive Shakespeare lay down ratchet type mount, but one hole cracked while tightening the bolt. I used it anyway, but it felt very flimsy and looked like it wouldn't last a week, especially while underway in a stiff breeze. I switched to a Shakespeare heavy duty stainless model, which is plenty strong for that antenna.

As far as getting interference between antennas, can't help you there, but I'd mount at least a foot or two from each other, minimum. Just a guess.

I purchased this antenna too. Question do you have to use the control panel or can you just go direct to the tv?

Keith..... I'm pretty sure you need to use the panel. There is a red LED if you look in the hole at the bottom of the antenna, and that should be lit when in use.

I already had a problem, where I wasn't able to pull in any channels. Initially I had about 7, and then none. I called the company and they advised to return the panel for service. I'm trying a cheap 10.00 antenna this week, and if that works I'll know for sure the panel (power supply) went bad.

BTW..... I see from your user name you're on the job in L.I. I retired from the job in Westchester 3 years ago...... and still don't have enough time for boating!
