Turbo Boost Pressure Reading 0.0

Noticed my port engine Turbo Boost Pressure reads zero PSI on my Smartcraft, while the starboard engine shows 14.2 PSI. This was with a cold engine at idle. Anyone know why it's reading 0 or why a cold engine turbo would read 14.2? Which side is the problem and what ideas does anyone have to correct whichever reading is faulty?

Thanks!

First, I am NOT familiar with your setup, but... From those numbers, it sort of sounds like your port engine is reading is PSI and the starboard engine is reading in absolute pressure. 14.7psi is atmospheric pressure (14.2 is awful close). When measuring in PSI (what we're typically used to), the first 14.7 is basically nixed and we start reading pressure after that. Could your gauges have settings for different units of measure? Meaning, maybe the starboard engine is somehow set to a different unit of measure. Again, that's "if" your gauges have that choice. But's it a pretty good coincidence!

Looks like reading PSIA which is common for measuring vacuum to positive pressure. Other common units are KPa or kilopascals and for non-boosted engines mm hg and in hg (millimeters of mercury and inches of mercury) Vacuum is 0 to 14.7 and boost is 14.7 up. A Diesel engine at idle 14.2 looks to be normal. The other engine has an instrument problem.

Yes, no issues. Was just scrolling through the system and noticed this.

Makes sense but I don't think you can change units of measure, especially different units on the same Smartcraft page but I'll check. I'll try to post a pic of the readings...

Re: Turbo Boost Pressure Reading 0.0

Do you see a change in pressure off idle? It could be a bad sensor on the STBD side, somehow stuck at pressure.

It doesn't make sense that one is reading absolute manifold pressure as boost pressure and the other is reading relative pressure as boost. But that's what it looks like. Time to go though the setup features and ensure both are configured the same way.
