TSA At It Again.

Lot was an idiot.....but at least his daughters didn't get the TSA pat-down.
 
I have to fly on a regular basis for work, here is my 2 cents.....

The pat downs are invasive and largely ineffective because the TSA refuses to use logic (AKA profiling) when selecting people for additional screening. This is just adding insult to injury.
As bad as the pat downs are, I regularly opt for the "freedom grope" in lieu of the necked body scanner.....just make sure to request they put on new gloves before shoving their hands into your waistband. The least of my worries is the naked pictures they are taking of me (a terrible assault on my liberty), my real concern is the blast of radiation they use to get the pictures. I read an article today that states the level of radiation you receive in a scan is 10 times what they originally thought due to a calculation error.
As further evidence of the slippery slope theory, I recently saw the TSA testing a new version of the scanner. Rather than having to pass through their machine, this one is portable and can be used to scan people walking through an open space.
I hear many people say "Its OK because it makes us safe" These people have completely given up their freedom for the mere illusion of safety. The TSA screeners are basically your local DMV or SSA clerk dressed in a fancy blue shirt with a badge. Most of them wouldn't recognize a threat if it was written on the boarding pass.
 
I say we need two separate systems. One terminal where EVERYONE gets scanned, wanded and every bag searched. And for all the objectors another terminal where you just get on like a bus. You choose which flight you get to be on.

Remember, this thread started with a 6 year old girl pat down. Does seeing that make you feel safe?? It does nothing to extend a sense of security for me. I personally don't mind the pat downs for myself. I also don't mind the full body scanner. If someone finds the outline of my naked bodice attractive have at the vaseline then! I went through one last year coming home from Disneyworld with my family. I imagine the radiation is similar to getting an x-ray at the doctors, I could be wrong here.

The main issue is the F'in political correctness of the global mindset that prevents the "likely" suspects from being profiled. When I actually see that happening is when I'll believe they are serious about airline safety!!!

So a couple years ago I and the family are coming back to the USA from the BVI after another amazing boating holiday down there. Our friends who's boat we go down and stay on pulls me aside and warns me about one of the BVI's security officer that is a knows child molester. It appears he got hired because he is related to one of the higher ups in the BVI govt. Sure enough my 13 yr old daughter gets pulled aside to be searched by this *******. By the time I get over to the table he is pulling out her underwear from her luggage. I go a stand right with my daughter as he tries to move her to a screened area for "additional screening". Bull**** on this I say and started to get pretty vocal... in which additional security shows up. I turned to the additional security and told them " I am not moving anywhere as long as that child molester is anywhere near my daughter" they didn't say a word of do anything else. Of course after he was done with my daughter and she was safe with mom the creep had a security woman go through my stuff... she apologized the entire time . I know this is the BVI but you still need to watch these people
