heard that Trump in AC is going to start charging $20 per person per day to use the pool. anyone else hear this? some friends were there weekend of june 16 and asked some employees, but they hadnt heard anything about it.

Ron:

I was there last weekend and will be there again this weekend. They changed their whole pricing plan. First off, they no longer have the frequent stayer program.... :smt089...but they will honor any free nights you currently have on your account.

It is now $2.50 - 4.00 / foot depending on your vessels length and beam. On the H dock, for me, it was $3.00/ foot....last year it was $4.00/ foot.

This year, you now have to pay for electric....$10 for 50amp $5 per 30 amp per night. last year electric was included.

This year you are right...you have to pay for the pool......$25...that's right twenty five dollars....per person....person day....last year that was free.

This year you have to pay $10 per person to use the gym....you guessed it....last year that was free.....

On the bright side, they will still give you 10% off your fuel and pump out bill if you show them your dock receipt....I didn't get any fuel, but I heard some folks say that 89 octane gas was $3.79/ gallon then take of the .379 it was about $3.41/gallon....

Hope to see you down there some time.....

They also changed the food and drink menu this season-not much of a selection. :smt013 The only good thing is the waitress staff continues to wear short shorts.

My biggest disappointment is the demise of one the greatest greasy spoon diners we always visited for breakfast on the outskirts of the harbor....Gilgrest diner is no longer with us.... :smt089

did you venture out LE on any of those trips to AC?.
they sure aint doing you any favors with that gas price, even with the 10% break :smt119

Ron:

I didn't go out LE, but one of the Sea Rays from the Brant Beach Marina at the Getaway did. He has a 410DA with Cats. He is also a member of the Local USCG AUX flotilla 07-04 ( I think). He travels the LE inlet frequently and his best advise was to hug the south shore heading out. I asked how well it was marked, and he said that it was marked as usual....which, as I said, means marked well just stay in the channel.

Good luck on your traverse....

THANK YOU Dominic!

Ron:

I just got back from AC a few hours ago. On the way down we went out of Barnegat and on the way home we came in LE inlet.

LE was a tame little kitty. Well marked. Just stay towards the south side of the inlet and you should be fine. There IS a Bifurcation marker as you approach from the ICW.

Have a safe trip.

thanks dominic! you are the man! is the bifurcation a red/green striped marker, like the one inside barnegat inlet?

myself, kinship and jlevine (from the boards) are planning a friday 7/7/07 rendezvous (sp??) at the secret spot. any chance you'll be around??

Ron:

The Bifurcation at LE is Green over Red....You can pass either side, but Green is the preferred route of travel. Heading south on the ICW keep her to your port.

Unfortunately, I have to work this Friday....I'd much rather be relaxing at the "Spot" than battling weekend traffic onthe GSP.....I'm open for Saturday or Sunday....

I went back to Farley's this past weekend. The building was raised....completely demolished. I spoke with a local and he told me that Gilgrest opened in nearby Absecon, and that they plan to rebuild on their origanal waterfront location to be re-opened by next season... :smt038
