The trucking company doesn't carry enough insurance. My insurance company doesn't sell a policy for trucking my boat. Does anyone have any referrals?

In my shopping for bigger boat and getting shipping quotes, I was assuming that most reputable haulers have their own insurance. I could be wrong. I'm not an expert but I think it would be worth looking for another hauler. Just my $.02. Good luck!

Contact Gary at boatinsuranceonly.com tell him I sent you. It should be easy since he just insured my boat and the insurance was not an issue for the trucking. His company name is Twin Rivers Marine Insurance and his number is 800-259-5701. Great guy that will give you great service at a fair price. You would pay a bit more than me since you paid more for your boat but I am between $700 and $800 a year.

Many haulers have insurance to cover most of the boat but when it gets past a certain price point they have the owner's coverage as back-up.

Any company hauling your boat should have the proper insurance. If they dont have enough, you can tell them they have to buy additional insurance to coverage the cargo. I tell Carriers that often. What the Carrier, ( Trucking Company) does it call into their insurance agent and buys a 7 day rider to cover the cargo they are hauling. Pretty standard stuff in the trucking industry.

He is correct. I have had to do just this a time or two on some high dollar moves.
