Trouble with Post & Preview options

Does anyone have the problem where sometimes when you hit the Submit button to submite a post, it actually results in showing you the preview, just like you hit the Preview button? I have gotten stuck in this mode several times with different versions of OS and IE. Was blaming it on Win2000 + IE5, then upgraded to IE6, and now I am at WinXP+IE6 and I'm still getting it.

Random. Sometimes it just won't take and I can press the Submit button forever and it will just continually show me the Preview. Sometimes it will act properly and take the first time. Other times, after a few trys. Haven't figured out the exact issue yet, but wondered if anyone else is experiencing it. I don't get it.

In just typing this post above, it showed me a preview for three times until the fourth try, it submitted it. Whew!

I've not had that happen here (yet) but I've had it happen on other boards that use the same product.

I should have mentioned that its a work computer and I'm not allowed to touch the software on it. And it took ages just to get IE6...-after- IE7 had already come out!
Now on this (my home) computer I have never had a problem. Also running XP, but with IE7.

Maybe I'll try that portable Mozilla Firefox. Buddy at work just told me about it; you can keep it on a USB stick and run it directly from there; seems like a good option.

I have had that happen a few times and i have the most updated IE.. so i guess its not that.

Well, I tried Mozilla Firefox from work and the same issue exists; can't post. Everytime I hit post, it gives me the preview.

Yesterday I posted three messages. One took about 20 tries (I'm presistent!), the other went on the first try, the last one went on about the 8th try. We'll see how this goes.

Very annoying and the only board that does this to me. Can't understand it; maybe a firewall issue? I took a look at the source of the page and it just seems that the same 'posting.php' gets called on Preview and Post, but the data being sent is different. It must be that when I hit post, its sending the 'preview' option.

If only I could figure out the madness. I've tried pressing the buttons in different areas, I've tried tabbing to the button and hitting enter. No matter.... :huh: :smt101'

Functionality simply PUT

The functionality of this site has gone to the dumpster. Posting and responding to posts goes dead, the site is up and down constantly ...

To those in charge ... If you haven't changed anyting to have caused different functionality, the the problem is the hosting service, if they haven't done anything to change the sites connectivty, fire them and move on.

Right or wrong, we've come to expect more from the site than we're getting.

Well, I can nearly confidently say that the move to the new server fixed my issue as mentioned in the original post above! When I hit submit now, it actually submits! Imagine that....

Don't really know why that did the trick though. Must have been some issue with the server getting confused on what it was getting on my end.
