I need to gain acces to the cabin roof and I'm having difficulty pulling out the lamps (original ones from SeaRay 2005 390DA)
One is more loose than others and I have pulled (hard) and the thing will not come out. Do I need to rotate it? Is there a trick? I don't want to damage the lamp or the upholstery. HELP!

It has simple spring loaded keepers so you just need to pull harder. Watch your fingers as the spring arms will snap down and get you. I pull them down enough to where I can hold the spring arms so they stay in place, don't smack my fingers and more important, don't wear out and break.

Welcome to CSR.
The light's pull straight down but the spring fingers behind them are strong so this is difficult to do using only your hands.
I found a small, one foot long, plastic crowbar that works great for me. You don't want to use a screwdriver.
