Twin 350 Mercruisers
Hello, I recently bought a 1986 30ft Sea Ray weekender at an auction. It has twin 350 merc's. I have looked and looked and cannot find the battery switches. On this model the batteries are located between the two power plants, not behind them. I have pulled up the specs on Sea Ray (online owners manual), and it notes that on this model the battery switches are on the T bar behind the engines. There is no battery switch, there is only a small 2x3 red box (which is broken), and there are 2 small wires coming out of it.
I have power going to the ignition switches, the battery cables are coming strate off the batteries and going directly to the starters., however it still will not crank the engines.

So, can anyone tell me where else I can look to see if there is a knockout switch please??? I have looked all over and cannot find a switch, but there has to be something not letting current get to the starters. Thank you all in advance,, !!!!!!!!

If your leads are going straight to the motors, positive-red lead to starter, Black-negative to engine block. And there is no master switch in between, then would assume there is no master switch.

Considering that you boaught it from an auction, have you tested the batteries?

You could also try jumping from the main terminal post on the starter motor to the spade terminal on the starter motor solenoid and see if the motor cranks.

Thanks Ianbat, I actually just got back out of the boat, found a knockout switch from ignition wayyyyyyyyyy up under the dash, what a deal. Thanks much for the reply!!!
