Trim wont go down, only up

Hey all, my port motor on my 03 280DA wont trim down. Trim and trailer up both raise the outdrive, but it wont lower. I can jump a hot wire onto the solenoid and then it goes down, so the solenoid, pump, motor assembly are all ok. Just no power going to the down solenoid. Are the up and down fused separate somewhere? I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction before I start tracing wires.

My twin 4.3’s with alpha 1 drives did the same thing. It was the solenoids. Very inexpensive just hard to get to. If it goes down when you jump it that would be my first part to replace.

Thanks for the reply. May not have been clear on my first post, I jumped the relay coil, not the contacts, so the coil is properly functioning. For some reason there is no voltage to the relay coil from the trim switch.

Trim Switch on the handle went bad????? A failed switch is not that uncommon.
Lots of videos on youtube how to replace and Amazon carries some of them.

Solved. Bad connection at the 3 wire plug going into the trim unit.
