Second Chance Al,

Congratulations on your new boat!

Of course I'm biased towards remotely adjustable Trim Tabs since I work for Bennett :) However they do give more control over a broader range of conditions and since the can be adjusted "on the fly" you have the ability to trim the boat as passengers move about and as speed and water conditions change.

When it comes to sizing Trim Tabs for your 230 I would suggest that the 10" x 12" Bennett M120 Sport Tabs would be a very good choice. Or "standard 12" x 12" Trim Tabs offered by other manufactures as well as Bennett.

I would be delighted to answer any other questions you might have about Trim Tabs.

and I would second that Bennett is the only way to go. They have gone out of their way to help, even helping me deal with my original '94 tabs.

If I was installing adjustable trim tabs I would buy Bennett. However, I didn't want to make that big of an investment so after seeing how well they worked on a friend's boat I bought Smart Tabs (nauticusinc.com) and I can't say enough good things about them.

Got free O-rings from Bennett a few years ago when they originals from 1987 started leaking. Don't know how many companies will send our maintenance parts 16 years AFTER you purchased their product! I've watched this board and others for many years and Bennett sets the bar very high for it's competition!

Called Bennett with an issue I had on my 1986 tabs and they talked me through it and got them working perfect again, Love them and they have great customer service. (and they speak english)

Second Chance Al,

Any chance of getting a photo of your transom?

I'm going to try looking on the internet to see if I can find one, but a picture of yours would be best.

There are DOZENS of reasons to NOT purchase Bennett tabs. There is ONE reason TO purchase Bennett tabs. Service after the sale.

I have been jerked around by Merc, Marine Max, some "marine mechanics", etc.....

Bennett has always been there supporting their product. As a matter of fact, when I enlarged the tabs on Saint Max, Bennett was a key adviser on the project.

Bennett rocks.

Tom, I have a 200 Sundeck what size tabs?

Does anyone have the Auto Tab Control? I'd like to hear about ease of install, performance, etc..

Second Chance Al,

Great!

I also received your E-mails and correspondence with Bennett. I want to check out the contents of the Custom SeaRay kit that M.J Thomas referenced that is used on your boat. I will have to wait until the office opens on Monday (I work from a different location) and see if we can put together what you need in a more cost effective package.

I will be in touch as soon as I do some research.

Banagy,

I would suggest a set of 10" x 12" M120 Sport Tabs for your 200 Sundeck. But just like we are doing with Second Chance Al, can you post a picture of your transom? That way we can be sure that they will fit and install easily.

Tabman;

Thanks much. This is an absolutely fabulous boat and we plan to keep for a very long time. It's not often you find a 12 year old boat with only 75 hours on it. Pure luck it was owned by busy doctors.
