Dumb questions which paint do you use on the trib tabs, Bottom Paint or the paint you use for the outdrives? I am thinking the same paint as the outdrives. Thank You:huh:

Hi I have same boat but different engine as you have.
I paint trim tabs with same paint as the outdrive. I use a local brand "technomarine" 1kg colourless transparent antifouling lasts full season.
Best regards
Melida

I have always boated in salt water and for the last 20 plus years have been painting them with bottom paint. has never effected the operation of the tabs.

Bottom paint. Works MUCH better then the outdrive paint. Trilux sucks, but it really is the only thing you can use on the outdrives.

You should use a copper free bottom paint. Trilux is the most well known paint, but I have found that Mission Bay by Sea Hawk works better and last longer. It is not quite as soft, and uses zinc omadine as the biocide instead of copper thyocinate in Trilux. The zinc omadine is a much better biocide for controlling antifouling. It still is not as good as copper, but the best to use since you can't use copper on the underwater metals.
