Trim Tab Anodes....Zinc or Alum?

Yes......did the search and came up empty.

I use aluminum anodes on my BII sterndrives as recommended for saltwater and read somewhere not to mix anode materials. Does this mean to use aluminum anodes on my stainless trim tabs as well? :huh: Hmmmmm......I believe the last ones the shop installed were zinc but wanted some input from the people in the know. Of course they may have just meant not to mix on the drives which is a no brainer.

Whatcha think and what do you use?
 
Your tab planes are not electrically connected to your drives, so should be no problem to use zinc instead zinc-aluminum alloy
 
If you want to know for sure, go to boatzincs.com and ask them. I asked them a question on a Sunday and got a reply back the same day. Good people to work with.
