trim switch

my trim switch will not bring the outdrive up but it will go down but the trailer button will bring the drive up could it be the switch?

More likely the trim limit switch on the drive. 4A-5 this link.

Look at the wires coming out of the trim sensors. One or both could be corroded or broken off.

but the trailer button will make the drive go up. is that all connected together?

i second the last post, i would check the sensors on the outdrive, but i did have a switch on my old boat go bad so that is a possibility, but i had the sensors become un adjusted many times so that is more than likely what it is

trailer button by-passes the limit circuit to allow it to raise up all the way

now the trim sensors is that the left or the right of the bell house
