This past weekend when at cruising speer, the alarm on my smart guage went off indicating a trim fault.
the trim indicator gauge bounced around a bit then seemed to function agin.
The reservoir was a little low but not below the add mark. The trim does seem to work and the gauge does return to normal function in a few minutes Any initial places to check first? the one thing im not sure about is whether or not the trim functions while the alarm or gauge needed is faulting.

Curious to see any responses to this. We received no fault notice, and it bounced around widely, then ceased functioning. Readings were 0 and full down and full up. Dealer inspected, verified all connections, and has ordered a replacement sending unit as the likely culprit (warranty item). What reservoir is there?

I have the same issue. It is the sending unit on the drive. I'll get around to replacing it eventually.

mechanic going to haul the boat next week. Thats the bad news... the 2 sensors that he feels are bad are in the drive housing under the water. the tilt sensor and the stop limiter sensor. Both covered under the extended warranty, but im sure i have to pay for the haul.
The mechanic said lots of boats have this fault and its real common... most people ignore or disconnect. Im not one of them!

Happened only once, and it reset itself. No problen since.

I had my senders replaced this spring for this very reason. While cruising along on plane, Smartcraft would start beeping, trim fault would show up on the display, and the trim gauge would go to zero. After a short time, the gauge would return to normal. The boats running attitude would stay the same, and there was no change in speed, so I knew the drive didn't actually move. Replacing the senders fixed the problem. My mechanic bent and ground down an open ended wrench that allowed him to replace the senders and wiring without removing the drive.

i just had my sending units replaced in the lower units. If you pull the lower units, you might as well change your bellows out now, if you haven't had them done yet. I was getting a port 131, trim circuit low, error on the smartcraft. My smartcraft went dead on one side from the sending unit being bad.

We were getting fault alarms on our Smart craft system indicating TRIM fault over and over. The guage would read just fine, then it would send an alarm and the guage would read all the way down. After a few months of dealing with this, I had the dealer change the trim sensor and since replacing it, all is fine.

They did try re adjusting the settings with the " Max Up, and Max Down" to re calibrate it on a prior visit, but it didn't help, kept getting the fault alarms.

No more alarms. Just had them replace the trim sensor.

I also found I get the best overall performance in this boat by leaving the drive all the way down anyways. Now, I rarely trim it up. Seems to do better all the way down. Better speed for the RPM.

Any chance you can get a pic of this custom wrench and share it with us? I would like to see it! Thanks

I'll try, he might be a little ticked off at me right now since I used a different mechanic for my last repair...

I saw the wrench once. The gist of the modifications seemed to be thinning down the metal for the last 6" of so. The neck was thinned down as well as the mouth. He just made it thinner, then put a slight angle in it.

I have the same issue as well...I just deal with it...Seems like another SmartCrap feature!
I'll get around to re-aclibrating the sensors to see if that helps since my guages seem to work fine
