Hey fellow boaters..
I'm looking to add transom speakers to my 2006 320.

When we're at the bay and in the water, the cockpit speakers are tough to hear, even when cranked up.

Has anyone done this to a 320?

I noticed too that some have insets when installed on transom

have you considered using a nice Bluetooth speaker instead of permanently mounted transom speakers?.....that is what I do...... I use my smartphone to stream music to the Bluetooth speaker and set the speaker on the swim platform when we are floating behind the boat....i have the smartphone in a charging cradle so the streaming doesn't deplete the battery.....works great and no installation required...

CliffA, I appreciate the response

That's actually what we do now. We use our Bose bluetooth as a work around. This works good for some situations, however there are times when it's not strong enough...usually when the beer starts flowing and a good song comes on!

I do but the photo was to large to post. Will try to resize. I do have them slightly pointed down and the sound is great. Actually have the amp turned down and a separate volume control as they can be VERY loud.

I don't have pix right now, but i installed some banana jacks in the back of our boat and put some good Pioneer 400 W 6x9's in speaker boxes with banana plugs. Yes, we have to hook them up when we use them, but they stay dry in the cabin all week. We hang at a sandbar alot, and having the speakers on the transom makes for great sounding music, as sound carries well across water. Not too loud so you can't talk and yet still ROCKIN'! I also added a 400W amp for just the rear speakers, just because.......

One of the members here has a good idea of mounting speakers inside the transom locker and you open the locker when you want this way the speakers are protected and you don't cut holes in the body I thought it was a good compromise
